Mark Thompson joined Haynes Whaley Associates in 1977, one year after the firm's founding. His education includes a Master of Science in Structural Engineering in 1975 and a Bachelor of Science with Highest Honors in Civil Engineering in 1973, both from The University of Texas at Austin. With over 29 years of experience in the planning and design of building structural systems, Mark was responsible for opening the firm's Reston (Washington, DC) office in 1986. Mark is a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Accredited Professional, a program developed by the U.S. Green Building Council. |

He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Physics from the College of the Holy Cross in 1984 and Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in 1986. Tom serves as a Project Manager in Haynes Whaley’s Reston office performing and managing project design, coordination, and construction administration.
